SECOND WORLD WAR
The Second World War was a global conflict, fought during the years 1939–1945. Although the war impacted almost every country, those at the centre of the conflict were the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, and Japan) and the Allies (France, Great Britain, the Soviet Union and the United States). Many countries across the world were colonies of these powers at the time, and were therefore also brought into the conflict.
